I tutor the subjects of math (up to algebra 1), social studies, test prep, Spanish, and English. My favorite subjects to teach are history, literature, and Spanish. For me, tutoring is not work, because I love learning and helping people. Learning comes easier when a student can make a personal connection with the material; as such, I work hard to make lessons relevant and personalized. I believe in stimulating various senses and different learning styles so I make use of tactile learning, visual cues, music, and multimedia. It is my greatest goal that every student retains the knowledge and skills to be successful in the classroom.I have had wonderful life experiences. For eight years, I served as a US Army Korean translator. Following this, I attended Riverside Community College followed by San Diego State University. I received a bachelor's in English with a minor in Asian Studies. I have also completed a master's degree in Education at National University, and a teaching credential. I was a high school English and Spanish teacher for more than ten years. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and learning foreign languages. I have visited Europe and Asia, and I have plans to visit South America. I enjoy reading historical fiction, and I like old cars.
